IT Service Technician

Job Responsibilities

  • Provide helpdesk support services, phone support and remote desktop troubleshooting.
  • Coordinates, installs, maintains and troubleshoots a wide range of PC equipment and peripheral components such as monitors, keyboards, printers, and disk drives.
  • Performs hardware upgrades to existing computer equipment as needed.
  • Sets up and configures PC's.
  • Loads specified software packages such as operating systems, word processing, or spreadsheet programs into computer.
  • Replaces defective or inadequate software packages.
  • May assist in the customization and adaptation of existing programs to meet users' requirements.
  • Provides users with technical support responding to the needs and questions of the end users regarding their PC systems, software, hardware and network.
  • Answers end users' inquires.
  • May diagnose system hardware, software, and operator problems.
  • Recommends or performs remedial actions to correct problems based on knowledge of system operation.
  • Required to document procedures utilized.

Skills/Qualifications

  • Proficiency with Windows XP, Windows 2000 and Office suite troubleshooting and support a must.
  • Hands-on experience with supporting windows clients in network environment, network printers.
  • Microsoft networks support and maintenance skills.
  • Ability to re-image Dell PCs and Laptops.
  • Customer-oriented with excellent communication skills.
  • Consistent work habits.
  • Excellent troubleshooting skills.
  • Able to work without supervision.
  • Looks for ways to improve and promote quality and demonstrates accuracy and thoroughness.
  • Capable of changes in work environment, managing competing demands and able to deal with frequent change, delays or unexpected events. Must be organized and detail oriented.

Education Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Experience with A+
  • At least 2 years experience in Hands-on PC, Windows and LAN support.
